Symphonic Temperaments of a Family

We often forget how crucial it is to take our time to create a perfect balance between our work life & familial obligations. This analogy perfectly sums it up: "If the family were a boat, it would be a canoe that makes no progress unless everyone paddles."

Our dexterous efforts to maintain a proper balance for our family can still manage to fall flat; an unfailing overarching strategy to prioritize the maintenance of our culture is key to avoiding this pitfall.

The orchestra conductor makes a small gesture with a baton to turn the dissonance into harmony. There's not only a certain significance in the whole gamut of the conductor’s role but essentially the role of every musician present in an orchestra who complies with the directions of the conductor readily, a harmony ensuring that all the musicians complement each other.

The combination of good consonance with the directions and a sense of compliance with the laid down norms that come from within the ones being directed is a powerful component in the journey of a successful conductor.

Like an orchestra, similar parallel dynamics are observed in a familial situation where one of the key challenges is to create alignment. This becomes the substantial role of the conductor. Create an environment where everyone feels secure enough to open up about their aspirations. Empower everyone to help them realize their potential. However, make sure to act as a gentle reminder of their commitments to the family from time to time.

Discords are common. Getting back to harmony is what's essential. By establishing rock-solid dependability, we create a perfect balance between our lives as professionals & as family members.
